What is the Reporter?

ASHI’s flagship print publication covers industry trends and perspectives from inspectors across the profession. Each monthly issue offers various articles on topics like industry news, technical analysis, marketing strategies, business operations, announcements from ASHI headquarters and leadership, and more.

As a member, you can get involved by submitting your own articles at ashi.org or by emailing editor@ashi.org for consideration in future issues of the Reporter. Articles may be on any topics related to home inspection but must not promote any specific product or service. Content for consideration must be wholly educational and engaging. We always seek experts who can share their knowledge and experience with our broad readership. View the upcoming editorial calendar on the ASHI website for topic ideas.

Members are also invited to submit exciting or interesting things they experience during inspections with the ASHI community in Postcards from the Field—a monthly feature in the Reporter.

Each issue of the Reporter also recognizes new members and anniversaries. The Reporter is mailed to all active ASHI members, with most receiving their copy by mid-month. It is available in both print and online.

ASHI Newsletters

ASHI also has various types of newsletters. To include your chapter news and event information in the ASHI Newsletter (emailed at the beginning of each month), submit your content one week before the last day of the month. Contact membership@ashi.org if you have any questions.

  • Membership – Sent the first week of each month and highlights critical ASHI information like awards, board elections, and upcoming events.
  • Education – Sent the third week of each month, including highlights on upcoming ASHI Edge courses, webinars, and IW on the Road.
  • Chapter Newsletter – This recent addition will be sent quarterly to chapter presidents. It will include information on leadership, working with volunteers, and events.

Find An Inspector

The ASHI Find an Inspector tool is one of the most popular areas of the ASHI website; it directs potential clients to your business. One referral from FAI results in paying for your membership, and any additional, and ASHI is now making you money.

An Umbrella for a Rainy Day

Inspectors frequently get blamed for defects they didn’t and couldn’t identify, either due to concealment, inaccessibility, or other barriers. So what’s an ASHI inspector to do? One option is to turn to InspectorPro Insurance with the ASHI Advantage.
