As an ASHI member, you have access to a wealth of resources designed to help you become an excellent home inspector with a thriving business. Below is an overview of the many ASHI member services and benefits now available to you. 

Earn Continuing Education Credits Through ASHI Edge

The ASHI Edge is the association’s education platform that features a catalog of courses that members can take to earn continuing education credits for ASHI and specific state licensing requirements. Most courses are free to ASHI members. We recommend:

• Logging in to make sure you can access the catalog.
• Setting a goal for the number of Continuing Education (CE) credits you will earn each year. We recommend at least once course a month to stay on top of licensing and certification requirements.

Plan to Attend Inspection World

Inspection World is ASHI’s annual conference. This conference is the largest gathering of ASHI members and it offers opportunities for continuing education, networking, socializing, and learning about the latest trends and development in our industry. Plan to attend annually, or, at the very least, every two years.

Make Sure Your Personal Profile is Up To Date

One of your most important benefits is being included in the ASHI Find a Home Inspector directory. This directory is one of the most visited pages on the ASHi website.

Please review your personal profile and make sure that all of the information is complete and accurate. While we can’t guarantee leads, know that ASHI promotes the directory and it is indexed regularly by Google.

Share Your Knowledge in the ASHI Forums

The ASHI Forums allow members to request and provide help to and from other members. Got a question about a specific HVAC system? Maybe you’re unsure about a potential conflict of interest. Whatever your question or challenge, chances are, someone in the ASHI community has already tackled that issue.

We recommend checking the forums at least once a week and set a goal to pose one question a month, and respond to two questions every week. 

Serve on a Committee

Once you’ve been a member for a few years and feel like you know the association pretty well, consider serving on a committee. A lot of work gets done in ASHI committees, like reviewing the Code of Ethics regularly, reviewing the inspection reports submitted by members applying for certification,.

The truth is, ASHI would not exist were it not for the generous time and expertise of our members. By volunteering, you’re contributing your time and expertise. But volunteering is not a one way street.

When you volunteer by serving on a committee, you are also showing off your expertise, expanding your network with other high-performing inspectors, and increasing your visibility within and outside our community.
