ASHI Chapters kick off 2003 Food Drive
The Southern New England and Coastal Connecticut Chapters kicked off their 2003 Food Drive at their respective September meetings, where members made cash contributions for buying food to help feed the hungry during the holiday season. All the food is donated to the Connecticut Food Bank, who in turn distributes it to over 500 non-profit agencies in six Connecticut counties. In 2002, SNEC collected approximately 1,700 pounds of food and expects to see that amount doubled or tripled now that two Connecticut chapters are participating.
Check or money order donations are being accepted by the SNEC-ASHI Challenge Fund, c/o Joe Raffone, SNEC Treasurer, 19 Thompson St., East Haven, CT 06513.
