Like most home inspectors, my primary focus is single-family residential structures with the occasional duplex or multiplex. So, when the chance to inspect window flashing details on a large apartment complex came along, I figured it would be a nice change of pace for a few months.
For many home inspectors,
using social media to promote their businesses seems more complex than a Rubik’s Cube. The uncertainty around using these applications causes the vast majority of us to avoid them. However, the reality is that social media is everywhere, and its increasing presence makes it necessary for home inspectors to participate.
Some home inspectors specifically solicit work as an “expert witness” as a matter of choice. Others find their way into a courtroom or deposition hearing when they’re drawn in by opposing parties, usually because their testimony is deemed relevant to the lawsuit at hand. In these cases the home inspector often is served a subpoena to show up.
