About a year into my wife's real estate career, she came home one day and said "I think I have your next career". Sure enough, Home Inspecting has so many elements that connect with my experience, passions and family memories. I feel like I have always had a curiosity about design and mechanics of building. I have vivid memories of my Grandfather Ken driving nails, running power tools, using his hands to build homes and cabinetry. I have similar memories of my father Bob re-building his home and working on different projects over the years. I believe there is nothing better than the smell of cut wood. In Home Inspecting I get to learn about different construction techniques, I get to see all kinds of design styles, and explore all of the different neighborhoods of the Bay Area. One benefit that I didn't expect is that I get to have conversations with the people moving out of a house and get a quick history of their lives.
