ASHI Joins Coaliton in Support of Association Health Plans

ASHI has joined more than 100 organizations, representing more than 12 million employers and 80 million workers, strongly supporting the Small Business Health Fairness Act of 2003, bipartisan legislation to strengthen and expand Association Health Plans (AHPs).  This legislation will provide workers employed in small businesses and the self-employed with access to Fortune 500-style health benefits now enjoyed by workers in corporate and labor union health plans.

HQ tracks radon tax credit legislation

ASHI HQ was notified by AARST and the American Radon Policy Coalition that US Representative Rob Simmons (Connecticut) was in the process of introducing a bill in the United States Congress entitled “Raid on Radon Tax Credit of 2003.”  This bill, if passed, will provide a tax credit up to the amount of $1500 against income tax for the purchase and installation of equipment to test for radon and to reduce radon in air and water.  The two organizations are soliciting support for the bill, which did not have a number at the time of the notice.  For information on how to join in supporting this bill, visit www.ashi.org, Members Only, News.
