Mark Cramer Receives President’s Award

As one of the last official duties of his presidency, John Ghent presented the 2001 President’s Award to Mark Cramer, “for outstanding service to the President and Board of Directors during the year 2001. Your peers and fellows humbly extend this memento to you as a token of our highest esteem and regard for your service.”

Grewell Accepts Ironman Award

JD Grewell accepted the Ironman Award from John Ghent. Currently Membership Committee chair as well as serving on the Standards Committee, JD’s contributions – past and present – are indeed those of an Ironman as defined by the award. “Every organization has its unsung heroes who labor quietly in the background, but with great dedication. The Ironman Award, established in 1998 by John Palczuk, recognizes an individual Member who has given time, energy, talent and determination to ASHI over a long period of time and with little recognition.”

Cramer Receives Monahon Award

Mark Cramer accepted his second award – The Phillip C. Monahon Award, this time from Past President John Palczuk. This award recognizes an individual who has made exceptional and innovative contributions to the ASHI Membership. Nominations are accepted from all Members. In addition to years of leadership responsibilities, Cramer’s work on the Web site was cited as an innovative contribution. In addition to recognizing a Member every year, ASHI donates $500 to the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Newton, Mass. in the name of deceased Member Philip C. Monahon.

Mason Receives Cox Award for Chapter Work

Bill Mason was presented with the John E. Cox Award, which recognizes an individual for outstanding service to a chapter. Bill Mason was chosen as the 2001 recipient in recognition of his contributions to the founding of first FL-ASHI, then Suncoast ASHI, and finally Southwest FL ASHI, as well as his current participation in Southwest FL ASHI activities.

Paterkiewicz Honored with Special Award

Rob Paterkiewicz, ASHI Executive Director, accepted a special appreciation award from John Ghent. He was recognized for his years of outstanding service to ASHI’s leadership.

Passing the Gavel

It’s the official annual passing of the gavel, Mike Casey, ASHI president for 2002, thanks John Ghent for his service in 2001.
