How do I get my ASHI membership through AHIT? 

Expert package students automatically receive a one-year ASHI membership (valued at $449) when they purchase their training. Starter and Advanced package students receive a discounted one-year membership. There’s no separate enrollment process — ASHI membership is built directly into your AHIT package. 

Do AHIT classes meet my state’s licensing requirements? 

AHIT offers pre-licensing programs in many licensed states. However, licensing requirements vary significantly by state. We encourage you to verify your state’s specific requirements and confirm that the course you select meets them before enrolling. AHIT’s website provides state-specific guidance to help you choose the right program. 

What is the ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI) credential and how do I earn it? 

The ACI is the highest credential in the home inspection profession — and the only one independently accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). It requires completing a verified number of fee-paid inspections and passing the National Home Inspection Examination. ASHI membership gives you a structured pathway and the community support to reach it. 

Can I take classes online, or do I need to attend in person? 

Both options are available. AHIT offers live online classes, self-paced online programs, and in-person classroom training at more than 75 locations nationwide. In-person classes include field inspection experience in real homes. Online students gain the same core knowledge with the flexibility to learn from home. 

What support do I have after I graduate? 

You’re covered from multiple directions. AHIT provides unlimited lifetime instructor support. ASHI’s mentorship program, community forum, and local chapter network give you peer connections and ongoing professional resources as you build your career. 

Are there military or veteran benefits available?
