UNLOCKING WISDOM
I did a house yesterday with the Pella door wide open. I was embarrassed when I first ran across one and found the secret of pushing the door handle down to lock it. Another time as a first-time inspector I asked an experienced real estate agent which way the locks turn to unlock the windows. He acted like I was an idiot. In fact, they all lock in different ways—both right, both left, one right, and one left.
