Committee chairs assist with strategic plan

The Committee Leadership Work-shop took on a new dimension in December 2003. As always committee chairs met with their board and staff liaisons; reviewed guidelines, policies and procedures; and finalized committee member rosters. But instead of following the agenda of previous years by developing committee work plans, the chairs were asked to contribute to the ongoing strategic planning process.

Under the leadership of Taunya Land, ASHI branding consultant, the group worked on how committees could support the newly established strategic goals of Membership Value; ASHI as Advocate; and Perform the ASHI Experience. There were tactical discussions resulting in recommendations for the Board of Directors.

Steve Gladstone, ASHI President, thanked everyone for their participation in this important step in integrating the pieces of the new plan.
