“We Hold This Chimney to Be Self-Evident…”

This is a chimney on an outer building on the estate of William Floyd, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The building is an old blacksmith building built circa 1730. The chimney is for the bellows. The tree is petrified and still holding up the bricks, and it looks like it will for some time. A real estate agent would say: “What’s wrong? It’s still standing and was grandfathered in.”
