Voting Closed December 5

Voting Members with valid e-mail addresses on record at HQ received electronic ballots with the following slate of ASHI’s 2007 Officers. Paper ballots were mailed to those who do not have valid addresses on file.

For 2007 President-elect:

William Richardson, Albuquerque, N.M.

For 2007 Treasurer:

For 2007 Secretary:

Paper ballots for the 2007 Directors’ election were mailed October 31 to Council Representatives. The deadline for submitting ballots was December 5. Due to staff and budget limitations, there was no electronic voting for directors this year. Five directors and one alternate were elected from the following slate:

Ronald Rusch

Chapter leaders make renewal calls

Chapter leaders were on the phone last month, calling all who had not renewed their memberships to remind them November 29 was the deadline for maintaining their ASHI benefits. As of that date, all who had not renewed became inactive, losing all the benefits of membership, including being featured on “Find an Inspector.”

Register early for InspectionWorld to be counted for ASHI Chapter Enterprise Award

The chapters with the most and the highest percentage of members attending InspectionWorld will receive Chapter Enterprise Awards. Download a PDF of the full guidelines and rewards. Bob Kociolek at HQ (bobk@ashi.org) can answer questions about the award.

The award was funded by a long-time ASHI Member who believes attending the conference with his peers has contributed to his success, and he’d like to encourage others to take advantage of the same opportunities.

Cost of NHIE going up

The National Home Inspectors Examination will increase in price from $195 to $225 beginning on January 2, 2007. The cost increase—the first since 1999—was announced in late October by the Examination Board of Professional Home Inspectors. All ASHI Candidates must pass this exam to move up in membership. Parallel Inspection Program is up and running

More than 110 Members have signed up to be Parallel Inspection Guides. Guides provide Candidates with the experiences they need to become ASHI Members and professionals in their field. Members can learn more about the program, and Candidates can find Guides, by visiting the ASHI Web site, www.ashi.org/inspectors/parallel.asp or contacting Anthony Snyder at anthonys@ashi.org or 847-954-3190.

New badges on the way

New badges were mailed to all Members and Candidates with logo use privileges (C2s) who paid their dues. The badges are larger than in previous years and easier to read. Simply discard your previous badge and use your existing clip to attach this badge to your shirt, jacket or clipboard. The badges were changed based on Member input. We hope you like them. Questions?
