The ASHI School is very excited to be approved by the Veterans Administration for Chapter 31 – Vocational Rehab and Employment for multiple states in the US. In addition, The ASHI School, in partnership with Cincinnati State Technical Community College (CSTCC) in Cincinnati, Ohio, provides 5 college-issued credits in conjunction with the completion of The ASHI School Home Inspection course.

The course is the first accredited home inspection education program through CSTCC. The students who complete the course curriculum designed and offered by The ASHI School will receive five hours of transferrable college credit from CSTCC. These credits can be applied toward an associate degree from CSTCC, or may be transferred to another college. Students may use the Home Inspection course to bolster their existing careers or begin a new career or educational path.

The 120-hour home inspection course provides veterans with more options to help create their future. Upon completion of the program, veterans earn college course credits that can be applied to their existing careers or help start a new career path.

“We are proud and excited to offer this program to the men and women who served in our armed forces,” said Jack McGraw, director of The ASHI School. “Veterans make great home inspectors – they transition from protecting our country to protecting homeowners.”

TAS, with assistance from our local Veterans Administration representative, is working towards becoming approved for all chapters under the VA.

TAS News Updaes
February and March 2014 created fruitful activity at the school. TAS had classes running in Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, and Washington. Virginia boasted the largest graduating class of 13 students.

With increased classroom attendees, TAS has secured additional instructors in our St. Louis, MO and Illinois locations. The school continues to request and receive interest from seasoned Home Inspectors who wish to become part of the school faculty.

The school held a very successful 3–day mold class in Des Plaines, IL March 22-24, 2014. The students had a hands-on experience through lab exercises and classroom instruction, to become educated in mold testing.

6 students successfully graduated from the mold class with great enthusiasm about the course. Here are some testimonials:

It was a true joy to learn from you. Your passion for what you do and your willingness to impart that on your students is contagious. Before the class, I wanted to learn about mold, now I want to be a mold “TERMINATOR”
Thank you very much,
Ryan Schwinkendorf

It speaks volumes for an instructor who can take individuals and extract their brain power, to come up with enough enthusiasm to be able to grab onto all the information presented and process it accordingly. Your classroom teaching rates at the top of my many learning experiences dealing with the inspection services. Thank you again for helping me to become a better inspector through education.
Sincerely,
Brad Haugen, ACI

Another scheduled class, besides the Home Inspection Courses, is the Commercial Inspection offered on May 5-7, 2014 in Long Beach, CA. It will immediately follow the California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) conference.
