The Vote is On

by Edited by ASHI Staff December 1, 2010

On November 1, 2010, a three-part ballot was distributed to ASHI’s voting members. The voting period will close on December 15, 2010, thereby satisfying the 45-day requirement for amending the ASHI Bylaws.

The official results for all the issues on the ballot will be published in the January Reporter, as directed by ASHI Bylaws.

Officer Election for 2011

President-elect: Bill Jacques or Marvin Goldstein
Vice president: Charles Gifford
Treasurer: Alden Gibson
Secretary: Mike Stephens or Bill Loden

Certification Committee Member Election

Voting members are being asked to confirm two new members for the Certification Committee:

Skip Kelley and Scott Patterson

Current Election Bylaws and Policies and Procedures are available on the ASHI website, Members Only, Publications section.

Bylaw Amendment

An amendment to ASHI Bylaws regarding how the society is governed is on the ballot.

Changes to the ASHI Bylaws require that a majority of ASHI’s voting members participate and that two-thirds of those voting (66.7 percent) approve the change.

Voluntary Standards for Professional Inspection Practices
In a separate section of the ballot, voting members have an opportunity to accept voluntary standards for Professional Practices for Residential Pool and Spa Inspections and for Professional Practices for Residential Predrywall Inspections. The ballot has links to the proposed standards, which also can be viewed on the ASHI website in the Latest News section.

Watch for the results of this defining moment for ASHI.

The ASHI Chapter Enterprise Award

There are a few additional guidelines, but the purpose of the award is simple — to encourage chapter members to participate in InspectionWorld together. Questions?
