The 2005 ASHI Business Operations Study Will Have the Answers

by Edited by ASHI Staff July 1, 2005

Interested in knowing the average fee charged for a home inspection?

Curious as to what individual services inspectors are offering?

Every two to three years, ASHI conducts one of the most important studies in the real estate industry, the The Home Inspection Business Operations Study. This report, a comprehensive look at the state of the home inspection profession, is a “must read” for anyone in the business of home inspections or anyone considering entering the market. It is also used and cited by the media when they are providing coverage on home inspector-related issues, and referenced by state and federal lawmakers and their staffs when considering home inspection matters.

The study, first conducted in 1996, is presented with comparisons to all previous studies, providing a complete overview of how the home inspection profession has changed over the years. This summer, those in the ASHI membership will be given the opportunity to provide their responses to more than 60 questions. Selected inspectors from other organizations and from the 29 states where licensing exists will also be invited to participate.

The 2005 study is presented by ASHI, in partnership with HomeGauge, HORIZON by Carson Dunlop, 3-D Inspection Systems and Pillar to Post.

Interested in knowing the average fee charged for a home inspection? Curious as to what additional services inspectors are offering? Wondering what the average income is for a full- or part-time inspector? The 2005 Business Operations Study will have the answers. But, only if you complete the survey when invited to do so. Watch for your e-mail invitation. Aren’t sure if you have an e-mail on file with ASHI? Please log into the Members’ Only Extranet and check your record to ensure that we have a correct e-mail address on file.

As a bonus, if you complete the questionnaire and purchase a copy of the study before the end of the survey period, ASHI will include a complimentary custom report showing how your answers compared against your regional average. This custom report will allow you to see how your responses stack up against your nearest competitors.

If you are part of the ASHI membership and have not received your invitation to participate in this year’s study, contact Anthony Snyder at anthonys@ashi.org.
