New Content Covers Business Technology, Online Learning & Disaster Preparedness

Washington, D.C. – SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” announces three new content areas of the SCORE Web site, www.score.org. These added sections offer valuable information, tips and interactive workshops to help small business owners achieve success.

Technology for Your Business
, developed by SCORE and HP, is a resource hub under SCORE’s How-To section that helps businesses take advantage of technology. New articles cover technology plans, data security, e-commerce, and computer hardware and software. Free tools and templates are available.

Learn Online
features 29 new, free workshops on starting, managing and marketing a business. Two of the courses, created jointly by Verizon and SCORE, provide entrepreneurs with instruction for using technology and practices that can lead to business growth. SCORE and Verizon plan to add more workshops in the coming months, including some designed specifically for women and minority entrepreneurs.

Disaster Prep and Relief offers comprehensive information on how to prepare for and recover from a disaster. SCORE updated all disaster-related information, mentoring resources and federal, state and other links. More than 50 SCORE online counselors have disaster preparedness and recovery expertise through Ask SCORE.

SCORE CEO Ken Yancey says, “Millions of entrepreneurs count on SCORE for support and advice. SCORE continues to develop www.score.org to offer a wide range of exciting, up-to-date business tools and educational resources.”

Since 1964, SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” has helped more than 7.7 million aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners through counseling and business workshops. More than 10,500 volunteer business counselors in 389 chapters serve their communities through entrepreneur education dedicated to the formation, growth and success of small businesses.
