Report from the Board of Directors Meeting

by Edited by ASHI Staff June 1, 2004

The ASHI Board of Directors met in Chicago in April. The following actions were among those taken at the meeting:

• An InspectionWorld marketing agreement between the Society and the Texas Association of Real Estate Inspectors (TAREI) was approved, continuing the cooperative relationship between the two organizations.

• Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was selected as the destination for InspectionWorld ‘06.
• A change was made to the Code of Ethics section of the ASHI Position Statement on Home Inspector Regulations. It previously read: “Most government regulations include ethical standards.” It now reads: “Government regulations must include ethical
standards.”

• Effective immediately, all reports submitted by Candidates or others for verifying substantial compliance with the ASHI Standards must be in the English language.
Board meets next in Georgia and hosts Townhall

Each year, the July Board meeting is held away from Chicago in conjunction with a Townhall gathering to give the Membership an opportunity to interact with the elected leadership. This year, the board will be visiting Atlanta, Ga. The Membership is invited to attend the Townhall gathering on July 16, and the Board meeting on July 17.

Congratulations

ASHI directors and officers congratulated long-time ASHI Member Joseph Mahr and his wife Bernice on their 50th wedding anniversary, April 24, 2004.
