Quick Facts: Bidets
The single most important thing to remember when inspecting a bidet
Always look for an atmospheric vacuum breaker on the supply piping,
installed above the flood level rim of the bidet. In the bidet
pictured, the vertical piece sticking up above the faucet handles is
the atmospheric vacuum breaker. Older bidets that don’t have one are a
direct cross connection to the potable water supply. The atmospheric
vacuum breaker has to be at least 6 inches above the fixture, more in
some codes.
