Why worry about lighting the BBQ when you are potentially ready to light-up the house?

A brand new bag of Kingsford Charcoal sits right in front of the gas fired hot water heater waiting to ignite. This picture was taken on one of Atlanta’s coldest days this year when gas fired appliances were working over-time to keep up with the heating demand.

Oh, and in the attic, wood furniture was stacked against the gas fired furnace! In need of a fire safety lesson?

Choked up chimney

April03Chimney-Bricks.gif This view is looking down a chimney. From the ground and from the eaves the chimney looked fine. Turns out the interior separation bricks had fallen in both directions and choked off both chimneys.

Mitenbuler’s Monkeys

Replying to comments about infra-red inspection technology on the Discussion Boards, Kurt Mitenbuler wrote,

I’ve taken the additional extra step. I have been training a secret army of home inspection  monkeys!

April03MONKEY2.gif I strap infra-red monkeycams on their backs, send them out into the neighborhoods, and I sit in my corner office in the Sears Tower monitoring their activity via wireless technology. Reports are delivered via the (name deleted to avoid ticking anyone off) notebook system; there has been that darn learning  curve with the monkey crew, but we’ve simplified the code by simply removing  words completely. Each report is supplied with a Rosetta stone for conversion to English. When my software is complete, I won’t even have to monitor the monkeycams; the master computer will handle everything. The local board of Realtors® is very excited, and has assured me of endless referrals.
