Partnering in Education? A Workable Concept!

by Edited by ASHI Staff March 1, 2007

Breaking new ground and originally experimenting with the “Joint Chapter Toolbox” concept back in the summer of 2004, the Los Angeles/Ventura County ASHI/CREIA Chapter rounded out its 2006 educational calendar of toolbox offerings with a one-day seminar on “Inspection of Wood Frame Construction” with guest speaker Mr. Ken Larsen, CBO. The November presentation, which focused on comparing 2003 IRC vs. UBC 1997 framing requirements, was well attended by members of participating local chapters and by CREIA and ASHI members from farther afield. With the course material also approved for certification renewal credit by ICC (International Code Council), inspectors from various local building and safety departments also were in attendance.
