New online ASHI Membership Directory is up and runnning

Imagine being able to search the Membership by name – last or first, city, state, zip, country, chapter, expertise and more. How about searching multiple fields at the same time and updating your own profile and Web settings? Would you like a photo image with your listing in the ASHI Directory? Think about how you could use a Buddy List feature that allows you to send emails to other ASHI inspectors through the Membership Directory email utility. No more outdated addresses.

These are just some features of the online ASHI Membership Directory, which recently went live. Utilize it by going to the Members Only section of the ASHI Web site and clicking on “Membership Directory.”

Chapters covered by Directors and Officers insurance

HQ is pleased to announce that effective Feb. 8, all ASHI Chapters are covered by Directors and Officers insurance fully paid for by National. All the Chapters share $1 million in liability and there is a $2,500 deductible for each claim, for which the Chapters are responsible. National is pleased to be able to provide this important service to the Chapters.

ASHI now using dot org

On Feb. 25, the ASHI Web site and HQ email addresses switched from dot com to dot org. The Society only recently gained the rights to ashi.org. Dot com is typically for a “for profit business,” while dot org is typically reserved for a non-profit organization.

ASHI changed to dot org, but will retain the rights to dot com to prevent confusion and to allow internet users to find us in various ways.

Call for Nominations for 2003 ASHI Officers

Attention ASHI Members: Nominations will soon be accepted for Society Officer positions of President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer for 2003. Start thinking about potential nominees now.

Any ASHI Member in good standing may be nominated to any office.

Self-nominations are permitted, and all nominees must agree to serve if elected. ASHI Nominating and Election Guidelines require that all nominations include a completed Matrix for Evaluating Nominees. The Matrix will be published next month.
