Membership Embraces Political Action Committee
With more than 600 InspectPAC authorization forms returned, the Political Action Committee is on its way. If you’re one of the 600, you now have information on how the committee will use its influence on ASHI’s behalf, and how to support those efforts with your donation.
If you have not returned the form, please consider doing so. ASHI must gain your permission before soliciting your contribution. So only those who return it will have an opportunity to learn the details of and participate in this important initiative.
“ASHI visitor” should be referral – if not report to HQ
The purpose of “Find an Inspector” on ashi.org is to help consumers find ASHI home inspectors. They can use the telephone number or the e-mail option to contact you from the site. If they use e-mail, the messages will come to you with “ASHI
Visitor Mail” in the subject line.
Referrals are the only authorized use of “Find an Inspector.” HQ is taking steps to stop unauthorized use of it, and of the ASHI Membership Directory in the Members Only section of the Web site. Please report to HQ any messages you receive that appear to have reached you through unauthorized use of information from your listing.
Big doings in DC – July 18-20
Attention all Members and Candidates in the metropolitan Washington, DC area. Three chapters are joining forces to host this year’s annual Board of Directors meeting with Townhall gathering. Hold that date so you can watch your Directors at work, and participate in ASHI’s annual Townhall gathering. Plus plan to attend a reception and educational seminar hosted by the Greater Baltimore, MAC-ASHI and NOVA chapters, and to participate in the hearing on proposed changes to the ASHI
Code of Ethics.
Special for Candidates
A reminder on how to obtain Candidate logo use is being sent to all Candidates to encourage them to be ready to take part in the branding initiative. Candidates will also receive official notification of the availability of the Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics examination online, and how to exercise this option.
Coupons encourage chapter growth
Some chapters are reaping the benefits of the $30 coupon incentive program, now in its fourth year. Members and Candidates at large use it to reduce the cost of joining a chapter by $30. The chapter then redeems the coupon through HQ recouping the discount. For information, contact Bob Kociolek at HQ.
On a personal note
