Members in the Media
Sage, Ramono and ASHI Web site featured in South Florida Sun-Sentinel
“Hiring private inspector could forestall pitfalls,” by Sallie James, was published in the Sun-Sentinel and online, January 29, 2006.
She cautioned homeowners desperate to make repairs following hurricane Wilma to “proceed with caution,” and advised, “…hiring a professional inspector can be a good way to get a fair, unbiased damage assessment that might save money and time.”
ASHI Members Norm Sage, Residential Inspections of Florida, Inc., Boca Raton, Fla. and Peter Romano, Hawkeye Home Inspections, Coconut Creek, Fla., were quoted throughout the article.
“‘You don’t want to have a company evaluate your roof [that] may have an ulterior motive, such as installing a new roof,’ said Norman Sage.”
ASHI Member Peter Romano was quoted regarding objectivity.
“‘Hiring someone with a vested interest would be the wrong thing to do,’ Romano said. ‘We don’t have any vested interest because we don’t do the repairs.’”
Readers were directed to contact ASHI to find home inspectors in their area.
