Kickoff 2022 with an Updated Member Profile

As we step into 2022, the new year is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the milestones you have accomplished and get yourself ready to tackle your new goals. This time of year is about starting fresh and setting yourself up for continued success for the year ahead of you.
As part of this process, your Member Profile is one area you will want to ensure is ready to go for the new year. There’s a good chance your profile could benefit from a quick review and make a few updates to ensure you are putting your best foot forward and making a solid impression on potential clients!
Updating Your Information and Offerings
Have you earned new certifications or added additional services to your business this past year? If you have, you’ll want to add them here so clients can see the full scope of what you can offer them and have your profile come across more search results. You’ll also want to double-check to ensure that all your contact information and address are correct.
Updating Your Profile and Cover Photos
Having a friendly, professional headshot is a great way to attract new clients by coming across as personable and approachable. It’s always a good idea to have a recent headshot of yourself, not only for your ASHI Member Profile but one that you can use across other platforms such as your website or social media accounts.
If it has been a while since you have taken a recent headshot or your current one was just a quick placeholder, now is a great time to get a new one! The fastest and easiest way is to use your smartphone camera to take quality photos that will result in a professional headshot. Whether you are taking a “selfie” or have another person help you out, try to be aware of your background and find good lighting (avoid overhead). Hiring a professional photographer is always an option too, and they will likely professionally edit the photo to make sure you are looking your best in the headshot.
The finishing touch to complete the visual side of your profile is the cover photo. There are many different avenues to go down with your cover photo: company logo, team photos, or stock photography, to name a few. If you need a new company logo or your current one could use a refresh, don’t hesitate to take advantage of Logo Design Service to get a slick new logo, which would look great as your cover photo too!
Add Additional Languages
ASHI HQ has recently added more languages to the Additional Languages section to choose from in the Member Profile Editor. If you speak multiple languages, be sure to review the added languages and add any to your profile. This can help you appeal to more clients and be the difference-maker when choosing an inspector to hire!
Check Your Credentials
Background Verified Inspector (BVI)
The Background Verified Inspector (BVI) Program lasts two years after your application is approved. Now is an excellent time to check your renewal date or reapply to ensure you remain in the program and have the BVI badge displayed on your Member Profile.
State Licenses
If you operate in a licensed state, the last thing on your list when updating your profile is to add your license information. If you already have the information up to date, make a note of the expiration of when you will need to update it so that you remain in the local search results on Find an Inspector.
