It’s Time to Vote on the Code of Ethics
After several revisions reflecting input from the Membership, the revised Code of Ethics is being presented for approval. On January 30, 2004, e-mail ballots were sent, and paper ballots were mailed to Members without e-mail addresses on file. Members have until March 15 to vote.
At least 30 percent of ASHI Members must vote for the balloting to be valid. Each Member’s vote is important. What ASHI does influences the profession. The Code of Ethics Committee, with the involvement of the ASHI Membership and other stakeholders in the home inspection profession, developed the proposed Code, striving for a Code that is easier to read and to understand than the present one, which was written 27 years ago, and that essentially covers the same ethical principles.
