InspectionWorld New Orleans

by Angela Orlando September 1, 2007

InspectionWorld, the largest professional conference for home inspectors, is coming to New Orleans, La., January 16-19, 2008. Because InspectionWorld is the conference for home inspectors, it’s an event you can’t afford to miss!
Sponsored by ASHI, the conference will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, and everyone from the novice to the seasoned inspector should be on hand to learn, network with peers and talk to industry suppliers.

Bonus tracks added

We’ve revised the education schedule a bit this year. In addition to the Back to Basics, Advanced Technical and Business Development Tracks, you’ll be able to participate in daily “themed” sessions in our Special Topics Track. Thursday, the focus is on new construction inspections; Saturday will be all about commercial inspections. There’s also a two-day bonus track on inspecting older homes, which will culminate with a tour of a local historic home. What’s more, everything you ever wanted to know about software will be showcased at Software Shootout education sessions, to be held all day Thursday and Friday. As you can see, there are many ways to earn your 20 ASHI CEs over the course of the three-day event.

State approvals coming

For attendees who live in states where license renewal is required, ASHI HQ is working with the state licensing agencies to ensure you’ll receive state credit for your attendance at IW. Details will be provided as approvals come in.

Dine and dance

If you’d like to combine a little pleasure with your business, InspectionWorld offers many social events allowing for plenty of industry networking. At the opening night Exhibit Hall Reception on Wednesday evening, attendees can mingle with vendors in a relaxed environment. The All-Show Destination Luncheon provides a great meal while highlighting next year’s InspectionWorld site — Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. To wrap things up, on the last night of the show is the popular President’s Gala, a festive affair where attendees can kick back and relax after an intense week of learning. This year, you’ll enjoy an evening of food, fun and fish at the Aquarium of the Americas.

InspectionWorld welcomes spouses, with an entertainment program designed specifically for these important attendees. This year’s program includes a New Orleans cooking class, plantation tours, and high tea at one of the city’s most renowned historic estates.

Pre- and post-opportunities
On Wednesday, there’s a pre-show tour for those who are interested in seeing firsthand the destruction suffered throughout the city of New Orleans. On the tour, you will also appreciate seeing the recovery that is taking place. There is an additional fee for this activity. For those attendees interested in participating in a post-Katrina philanthropic activity while in town, we will be compiling a list of activities and resources for you to choose from. It will be posted on the conference Web site.
