From Sleeper to Shaker
To the editor,
Accolades to you and your staff for moving the “design issues” of the ASHI Reporter toward the 21st century!
If a goal of good design is to “shake” the observer or to create curiosity so they step closer, your January cover photo certainly did the trick.
When I pulled my mail from the mailbox the day this issue arrived, I remember stopping in my tracks and juggling all
the mail in my hands so I could pull this piece out to look at it. I couldn’t “not look” as the photo was simply
captivating.
December’s issue made it easy for me to take a nap. October’s issue got the juices flowing and I asked, “What is this
one about?” But January’s issue said, “You better stop right now and read this or you will miss something!”
Nice work.

Your Input is Valued
To publish the Reporter, ASHI depends on members who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences
with other home inspectors. Do you have something to contribute?
Do you have chapter news to share, especially photos of members participating in chapter activities?
Do you come across unusual conditions during your inspections? If so, send photos of them to be published in the
Postcards from the Field section.
Do you have a comment about an article you read in the Reporter or a suggestion? Write a letter to the editor.
Do you have an inspection-related success story, safety tip, viewpoint or business or technical article that would be
of interest to other readers? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
The ASHI Technical Committee reviews technical submissions for level of interest and accuracy before publication.
Therefore, we recommend authors submit their ideas for technical articles in summary or outline form and request
feedback from the committee before writing the article.
