Dues overdue
The deadline for renewing ASHI Membership was September 30, 2005. If you haven’t renewed, you may miss the series on home inspection and plastic plumbing systems by Kenny Hart, beginning next month in this magazine.
Avoid an interruption in your benefits by contacting HQ immediately.
Candidates dues are $295, and Member and Candidates with logo-use privileges pay $395.
MRCs: All those who need to report Membership Renewal Credits received a claim form with their dues notices. If you did not receive a form, you do not need to report MRCs.
Waiver: Letters and e-mails were sent to Candidates, Members and Retired Members in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana informing them of the ASHI Board of Directors’ decision to waive the 2005-2006 Membership dues for those who are unable to pay as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Those who had already paid were offered a refund. Rob Paterkiewicz, ASHI executive director, said the waiver will be based on need, and ASHI will not drop anyone from membership who lives in Alabama, Mississippi or Louisiana without having a discussion with him or her to address the dues waiver situation.
MRCs: Membership Renewal Credits have not been waived for the membership in these states, but will be discussed on a case-by-case basis, if necessary.
ASHI’s Tool Program
Some inspectors in the Gulf Coast region are ready to go back to work, but are short on tools and equipment. ASHI is in the process of identifying those inspectors who were unable to take these items with them when they evacuated or whose tools were destroyed in the storm. If you have tools or equipment, including computers, that you would like to donate to these inspectors, please send us an e-mail detailing the item(s). We will begin to match them with inspectors in need and will let you know where to send them. E-mail the information to hq@ashi.org. Additionally, if you know of inspectors who could use these items to get back to work, please have them contact us directly or let us know how we can reach them.
