Do it the Easy Way–Pay Dues and Report MRCs Online

by Edited by ASHI Staff September 1, 2004

For your convenience, ASHI dues can be paid online and MRCs can be reported at the same time. You can help ASHI keep costs down by paying the first dues notice you receive, saving your Society the cost of mailing repeat notices. If you do not receive an MRC claim form with your dues notice, you do not need to file one. For an explanation of the 2004-05 dues amount, see “Report Out” on page 31 and on the Members Extranet of www.ashi.org.

2005 Officer and Director elections

From April 30 through August 31, 2004, the Society accepted nomination matrix forms for the Officer positions of President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer for 2005. An Officers Nomination Committee, elected by the Council of Representatives, is considering the matrices and preparing a recommended slate. That slate, along with any petition nominees, will be presented to voting Members by October 31, 2004.

The Council of Representatives is electing five new directors for 2005 from among its members. A Directors Nominating Committee, made up of Council Representatives, selected a recommended slate from matrices it received from other council members to present to the entire Council for a vote. Results will be posted on the ASHI Web site and will be published in First Thing and in the ASHI Reporter.

No form, no funding

Chapters must submit a Chapter Grant Approval Form to HQ to re-ceive The ASHI Experience chapter funds. Funds will be released within two weeks of approval. The forms can be found in the ASHI Experience Chapter Funding & Activities Guidebook. The Guidebook is included on the chapter CD sent to chapter leaders and can be downloaded from the ASHI Web site, Members Extranet.

Fax, e-mail or mail your form and get your funding! Questions? Contact Bob Kociolek, 847-759-2836, bobk@ashi.org.

To our Florida members and Candidates

As this issue of the Reporter is going to press, we have little information regarding the hurricane aftermath in the state of Florida.  Our thoughts are with our ASHI Members and Candidates there and we hope that their lives return to normal as soon as possible.

Leadership training available

Bob Kociolek will conduct free Chapter Leadership Training Workshops on request. The two-hour training is designed to prepare future local leaders. He will travel to your location if 15 or more attendees are guaranteed. Interested? Contact Bob Kociolek, 847-759-2836, bobk@ashi.org.

Standards of Practice Committee considering service guidelines

Service helps set The ASHI Experience apart from other home inspections. In support of this special promise to consumers, the Standards of Practice Committee has proposed service guidelines and turned them over to the Survey Committee to collect the membership’s feedback. Watch for an e-mail invitation to participate in an online service guidelines survey to take advantage of an opportunity to help define the service element of The ASHI Experience.

Committee members asked for feedback

Each year, committee members are asked to provide feedback on the committee chair. These evaluation forms were distributed last month. If you received one, please fill it out and return it promptly.
