Bylaw Vote Closed April 19

As the Reporter went to press, ASHI Certified Inspectors and Retired Members still were voting on revisions to the ASHI Bylaws that would facilitate how ASHI is governed.

Looking for products or services? Consult your new directory

The ASHI Product and Service Directory was mailed to all ASHI members in March. Not only is it a convenient way to find the inspection-related products and services you want to purchase, it also gives you an opportunity to give special consideration to the companies that support your society.

If you did not receive a directory, contact Sarah Walsh at sarahw@ashi.org.

Please note the following correction to the Directory for the contact info of EZ Home Inspection Software:

Survey participants: Thank you

ASHI would like to thank everyone who participated in the Membership Value Survey. The results will be used by ASHI leadership in the ongoing strategic planning.

Report per-verification offered

An ASHI Report Verifier will perform a pre-verification for ASHI Associates who have performed at least five, but less than 50, inspections. Pre-verification is not required and does not satisfy the verification requirement. It is offered as a service to prepare members for that process. To find the Pre-verification Request form, go to the Downloads and Forms section of homeinspectors.org.

Associates: Move up

ASHI Associates who have preformed 50 or more inspections are encouraged to complete the actual verification process and move up to Associates with Logo Use. The process takes only two to three weeks.

Questions about verification? Contact Sarah Walsh at 847-954-3180 or sarahw@ashi.org.

Norman joins chapter consulting team

ACI Don Norman has joined David Sherwood, chair, Chapter Relations Committee, and Gary Monfeli on the Chapter Consulting Team. Chapters scheduled for a visit this year include Miami, Kansas City, Iowa and Oregon.

Questions? Contact Russell Daniels, russelld@ashi.org.

Chapters: Remember the coupon?

It’s simple and effective. Go to the Chapter Recruitment Tools page on homeinspector.org and download the $30 coupon. New chapter members can use it to discount their first year’s chapter dues. HQ reimburses the chapter when you submit the coupon.

Questions? Contact Russell Daniels at HQ.

Where do you find inspectors to recruit?

The membership department distributes a list of new members and prospects monthly. To ensure your chapter gets this information, let Sarah Walsh know who should receive it. Contact her at sarahw@ashi.org.

Chapters: Use new form to update info

To prevent errors, updates to chapter information will be accepted only on the form developed for this purpose.
Download the form from the Web site in Downloads and Forms or request one from HQ.

Questions? Contact Russell Daniels at HQ, russelld@ashi.org.

Chapter bylaws and financial info needed

If you haven’t already done so, please submit your chapter’s bylaws and financial statement. All chapter bylaws must be in compliance with ASHI Bylaws and Policy, and the financial statement is necessary for insurance coverage.
