ASHI Speaks Up

by Edited by ASHI Staff November 1, 2009

Over a period of only few weeks, reporters from the NY Times, Kiplingers Finance and Real Estate Today radio have interviewed ASHI President Bill Richardson. As ASHI’s official spokesperson, he is spends a lot of time preparing for and responding to these requests, which result in positive publicity for ASHI and encourage the use of ASHI inspectors by consumers.

David Tamny
, ASHI President-elect, is already taking on some spokesperson’s duties. He responded to a request from MetLife, Your Life magazine, because the article is slated to be published in the spring of 2010, when he will be president.

Members deliver the message

ASHI member Reggie Marston, president of Regional Equity Management Home, Springfield Va., appeared often in the news clips gathered during August, because he was interviewed by Barbara Ballinger for her article “As is’: bargain or burden?” Ballinger’s column was published in Allentown Pa., Wilmington, Del., Columbus, Neb., Aberdeen, S.D.

ASHI member Bruce Hefka, Signature-Inspections, Orlando, Fla., was the guest on WDBO Orlando radio. He said he spoke about the importance and process of a home inspection, and was able to cover why to choose an ASHI inspector and to share the ASHI Web site address with listeners. Hefka said he was glad he’d reviewed some information prior to the interview and didn’t have to shoot from the hip.
