ASHI Members Star in “Warehouse Warriors” Episode
T wo teams of three ASHI Members raced against the clock to build a do-it-yourself project in eight hours for a new episode of the popular DIY–Do It Yourself Network series, Warehouse Warriors.
Blue team members Mark L. Oldroyd, Don Norman and Chris Harrawood were from the St. Louis Chapter.
Larry Cerro, Tallahasse, Fla.; Jim Katen, Gaston, Ore. and Bob Peek, Christianburg, Va. competed as the Red team.
Each one-hour episode of Warehouse Warriors pits two three-person teams against each other to finish a project, such as building a gazebo, a multilevel picnic table or a child’s play gym, in one day using tools and supplies found in a pre-stocked warehouse. Each team receives the benefit of a DIY carpenter. At the end of the competition, a panel of judges examines the work and chooses a winner based on originality of design, quality of construction and creative expression. Projects completed on the show are donated to a charity. The six ASHI members did not know that they would be building a bed until the clock started ticking! Who won? Tune in on October 11 at 9 p.m. and 12 a.m E.T. to find out.
