ASHI at National Conference of State Legislature
Each summer, NSCL brings together about 6,000 state legislators, staff and state agency personnel, making it the largest and most substantive state legislative gathering in the nation. Marvin Goldstein met Missouri State Representative Fred Kratky and found that Rep. Kratky is a big supporter of ASHI and an acquaintance of ASHI Past President Don Norman. Way to go, Marvin!
ASHI President-Elect Frank Lesh, ASHI Legislative Committee Co-Chair Marvin Goldstein (both pictured here) and ASHI Director of Chapter Relations & State Affairs Bob Kociolek (not in the photo) attended the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Annual Conference in Nashville, Tenn., August 16-18, where they met many legislators from states where regulation is being considered and many from states where regulation is already in place. They brought the newly revised ASHI Position Statement on Regulation of Home Inspectors, July 2006, with the goal of getting the publication into the hands of lawmakers, like those in this photo, who are concerned with inspector regulation.
