It’s as easy as logging in as a member on www.HomeInspector.org. Once you log in, your renewal notice will automatically appear. As soon as you renew, we promise to stop sending you e-mails and letters.

Future Leaders Gather in New Orleans October 16-17
Chapters are sending their current and future leaders to the 1-1/2 day Leadership Training Conference in New Orleans, staring at noon on Thursday, Oct. 16. The event kicks off with a workshop by renowned ethics presenter Debbie Long. Highlights on Friday include workshops by volunteer recruitment expert Jill McCrory and legislative consultant/lobbyist Janet Swandby.
With $99 (plus tax) room rates, after rebate, and another outstanding lineup, this is the perfect opportunity for chapters to motivate and train the people necessary to provide leadership for a strong future. For information, contact Bob Kociolek at bobk@ashi.org or 847-954-3177.
Award Nominations Closed Sept. 30
The Phillip C. Monahon Award goes to an ASHI Certified Inspector who has made outstanding contributions to the Society and the profession over a long period of time.
Those nominated are now being considered by a committee of three previous recipients of the award and one ASHI past-president.
The John E. Cox Award is ASHI’s annual tribute to a member who has made exemplary contributions to his or her chapter. Nominees are submitted by ASHI chapters and presented to council representatives, who vote by secret ballot.
The recipient of each award will be announced at the ASHI Annual Conference.
Call for Volunteers
ASHI depends on volunteers to help develop and carry through on the programs and activities that create value for the membership. Some of the hardest-working volunteers are those who serve on the committees.
Volunteer forms were distributed with the First Thing newsletter on Sept. 1 and are available on HomeInspector.org in the Members Only section under Downloads and Forms.
If you are willing to take a leadership role at the national level, start the process by completing and returning the Call for Volunteers form. If you have questions, contact Richard Bennett at richardb@ashi.org or 847-954-3183.
Chapter Leaders – Do you Remember the Chapter CD?
If your chapter is looking for chapter newsletter templates or the outline for a successful meeting, go to the online Chapter CD, and scroll down to Chapter Development.
New Advertising Rate Card Available
Some of the new advertising opportunities may be of interest to chapters marketing their educational seminars. The good news is print ad rates have remained the same and rates for HomeInspector.org are lower. You can download the rate card from www.ASHI.org under Media and Advertising, or contact Sandy Bourseau at sandyb@ashi.org or 847-954-3179.
Market Your Business with the Send Out Cards Program
The Send Out Cards marketing program for members will automatically send thank you cards, follow-up cards, even birthday and anniversary cards. ASHI Chapters can sign up at the Entrepreneur Level under ASHI’s umbrella and chapter members should sign up as wholesaler under their chapter or under ASHI.
The new contact person for the program is Bill Lewis, bill@ashi.org or 847-954-3187.
