Adding metro areas to “Find an Inspector”
Although only chapters may request that metro areas be added to Find an Inspector, any member may contact a chapter and suggest an area.
You do not have to be a member of the chapter to make the request. You can find the contact information for a chapter near you in the ASHI Membership Directory.
Moving up in ASHI
New Inspectors
If you are a new inspector who has done at least 10 inspections, an ASHI verifier will look at your reports and let you know how you’re doing at no cost. This service is included in your membership fee. A full report on your inspections is returned to you and the verifier will be happy to discuss them with you.
Associates
Have you completed over 50 inspections? 250 inspections? If you have, but are still an Associate member, we hope you will consider getting your reports verified, taking the National Home Inspectors Exam and the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
Education Module so you can move up to Associate with Logo Use. See below for information on the exams.

Associates with Logo
If you are currently an Associate with Logo Use, please contact Sarah Walsh, sarahw@ashi.org, when you are getting close to your 250 inspections. Contact Sarah Walsh for an Affidavit of Completion.
CE audit begins In February
ASHI staff is charged with conducting an annual audit of Continuing Education (CE) hours.
A list of 300-400 ACIs and Associates is randomly generated from the ASHI database, including at least one member from each chapter.
Members on the list are notified to turn in documentation supporting the CE hours they claimed. Certificates of completion, invoices and certificates of attendance are accepted.
If the documentation does not verify the required number of hours, the inspector is placed on administrative suspension until he or she submits the proper documentation.
If you have questions, contact Sarah Walsh, sarahw@ashi.org.

Next election cycle begins
When officers and directors for 2012 were installed in January, the next election cycle was already under way. Representatives attending the council meeting in Phoenix volunteered to serve on the Officers and the Directors nominating committees for 2013. They received a matrix in the mail with instructions to return it completed by February 22 to be considered for one of these committees. And so it begins.
For more information on the current election process, see Section 10 of the Council Policy and Procedure manual.
