“I am the Strongest Link” was this year’s theme at the annual ASHI Chapter Leadership Conference on October 17 and 18. Chapter leaders gathered for a busy day and a half of interesting discussion and exchange of ideas. The focus of the conference was on attracting and retaining new members, and developing chapter leaders and volunteers. Presentations on planning educational events, Peer Reviews and leadership were shared, as well as chapter success stories and challenges.
In tune with this year’s conference theme, Ken Harrington, Chairman of the Chapter Relations Committee, enthusiastically commented, “WE ARE........ASHI!!!!! Commitment to leadership is an essential element in maintaining a strong and viable chapter. Remember, you ARE THE STRONGEST LINK!” All ASHI chapters will be provided a USB flash drive containing the presentations given at LTC. Overall attendees rated the day-and-a half event very highly. The ASHI Board of Directors attended the Leadership Training Conference and participated in the roundtable discussions and training.
Congratulations to Kevin Westendorff and Joe Pangborn
One lucky winner of the Leadership Training Conference raffle drawing was
Kevin Westendorff. Kevin is a member of the South Carolina Chapter and won full
conference registration to InspectionWorld Nashville and a three-night stay at the
Nashville Renaissance Hotel. He appreciated LTC because he learned that many
chapters face the same challenges and the presentations gave many ideas to
take back to his chapter for building membership and providing quality education.
Joe Pangborn of the Mid-Missouri Chapter won the iPad Mini in the drawing.
Joe commented that he had a great experience at LTC, and he enjoyed the exchange of ideas and
information provided for successful educational events.
