Bio

I have supervised over 100,000 building and home inspections since 1977; personally performing over 14,000 property inspections. I was the founder of ABA Inspections & Consulting, the largest home inspection company in Missouri. I sold ABA to LandAmerica (now BPG) in December 2003 and was Director of Property Inspections Midwest Region (eight markets) through 2007. My son and daughter started R. Heyl & Associates in December 2008 and I have joined them to help make it the premier home inspection company in St. Louis. It is worth noting that my 30+ years of experience in home inspections, construction and real estate investments has positioned me to be uniquely well versed in all aspects of the real estate transaction process. Thus, I have a true understanding of the buyer, seller and agent perspectives relative to home inspections.
