Bio

John Cranor of Cranor Inspection Services located in Midlothian, Virginia is a licensed home inspector with a New Residential Construction specialty endorsement. He joined ASHI in 1998 and has been a full-time Certified home inspector for the last 25 years. John also has the additional credential as a Exterior Design Institute Certified Building Envelope Inspector and Moisture Warranty Corp EIFS Inspector. He served as chairman of both ASHI’s Technical and Standards Committees. As a third-generation contractor, Cranor has been around construction most of his life, especially roofing, that spans back more than 40 years. He offers litigation support and has given expert witness testimony in court many times in roofing, siding, home inspection, and construction related cases. Cranor is currently serving a second term in his Governor appointment to the Commonwealth of VA Asbestos, Lead and Home Inspection Licensing Board as board chair.
