The recent proviso to seat the existing persons on the certification committee has been approved by the voting membership.  Any changes to the bylaws require that 30 percent of the voting members respond.  The required number of votes was 1161 and with 1450 total responses we exceeded this requirement.  Of those 1450 votes, there was a 94 percent approval rating.  This was the final step in completing the certification project. The ASHI Certification Committee can now officially continue work as an approved standing committee. Two new members will be elected to the committee in the next election cycle. As ASHI members voted to make the current committee an official body, the committee continued to work. A Mission Statement and Statement of Value  have been created. Development of internal procedures and policies documents will clearly guide future committees. Integrating certification into the Web site and ASHI marketing is occurring. A collection of questions has been compiled into a FAQ document.

Visit with the members of the Certification Committee at the ASHI booth during InspectionWorld. During all breaks, members of the committee will be present at a table to discuss the certification effort, answer questions, take suggestions and have informational handouts. See you in Vegas!
