Thomas A. Gaba, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, performed his apprenticeship for the Home Inspection Services as a Building Service Technician. He began by spending three years as the youngest Building Superintendent for the prestigious Winton Place Apartments in Lakewood, Ohio. Certificates of completion in Heating and Air Conditioning classes from the West Side Institute of Technology prepared him to then maintain the heating systems for Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.

After fifteen years at Dollar Bank, Tom strengthened his knowledge in real estate by first becoming their Construction Coordinator, and then Senior Property Inspector on commercial and residential properties, dealing with many Government Housing Authorities throughout the state.

At Cleveland State University Tom earned his certification credits for "Ohio Plumbing Codes" and "Ohio Basic Building Codes". Additionally, continuing education courses in Real Estate at Cuyahoga Community College. Certificates of Course Completion for Home Inspections from the Sonoran Desert Institute of Arizona (a requirement for state licensing in Arizona). Certification for Inspection and installation for Stucco and EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finish Systems) from EDI (Exterior Design institute) and the Moisture Warranty Corp. are some of the highlights of Tom's educational background on buildings and properties, along with continuing education courses through the many Chapters of the American Society of Home Inspectors ®

In 1994, Tom formed the Buyers Home Inspection Service, Inc. to help prospective home buyers and sellers understand the networking of the systems within their homes.

Since its conception in 1998, Tom also helped develop and administer continuing educational classes for home inspectors and those wishing to gather more information to pass the American Society of Home Inspectors® and National Home Inspectors Exam's. He has also written articles for several Home Inspectors internet forums and the North Central Ohio ASHI® Chapter news letter, plus is the Designer and Webmaster for the North Central Ohio ASHI® Chapter's web site.
