Why Join ASHI?
As in any profession it is important to align yourself with the best in the business. ASHI is the oldest and most respected
home inspector association. The reasons a home inspector will benefit from joining ASHI include;

ASHI provides you a voice at the national level. ASHI was a primary source for introduction of HR 4776 "Consumer Protection
Home Inspection Counseling Act".

How to Join ASHI
To join ASHI you need to fill out the on-line application form, send or fax a picture id to ASHI, and a credit card for
the application fee and either monthly fee membership fee or one time fee that is prorated for months until the end of our
fiscal year, September 30. Once you have joined ASHI you can use the oral and written statement "I am an Associate Home
Inspector of ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors)". Once you have 1) completed 50 home inspections and had a sampling
of 5 inspections verified to be in substantial compliance with the ASHI Standards of Practice, 2) passed the National Home
Inspector Examination and 3) passed the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics you have earned the right to use the
ASHI logo with Associate tag. Once you have completed 250 inspections you have the right to use the ASHI logo with ASHI
Certified Inspector tag.
