Membership Advancement
All ASHI members join as an Associate – regardless of your training or experience in the home inspection profession. Members cannot immediately advance to the ASHI Inspector category and to the ASHI Certified Inspector (ACI) certification. Advancement is based on successful completion of the National Home Inspection Exam, Standard of Practice Education Module and passing the verification process of inspection reports. ACI’s are fully certified by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA), a third-party independent certifying agency. Being the only association for home inspectors accredited by NCCA allows certified inspectors to use the ACI acronym.
