My father was a contractor and worked my way through college renovating old houses. AA, BA and MA degrees. Worked in advertising and marketing at General Motors and the ad agency level for 7 years and kept on renovating old houses for fun and profit. Went back to school and became a high school construction teacher. Taught for 3 years and inspected part time. Got laid off from the teaching job and started inspecting full time while starting on my PhD in Vocational Education but gave up on the PhD....for now. I have renovated dozens of houses, built a few new ones and own rental property. Married 15 years. I want to one-day teach full-time at a community college where I can help young people get into good vocational and trade programs.
