Brendan Ryan of Valencia, Pa., Receives Cox Award

Brendan Ryan of Component & System Analysis in Valencia, Pa., has been awarded the 2006 John E. Cox Member of the Year Award from the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) for outstanding service to the Pittsburgh Regional Organization Chapter of ASHI (PRO ASHI). The award was announced by the Society in Anaheim, Calif., during the group’s recent Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony held in conjunction with InspectionWorld 2007, the premier annual conference of professional home inspectors.
Established in 1990, the Cox Award honors individuals who have made exemplary contributions to their chapter. The recipient must be an ASHI Member who has rendered outstanding service to his or her ASHI Chapter, either over a period of years or under special circumstances that may not occur again. The Cox Award recipient is nominated by his or her chapter, and selected by ASHI’s Council of Representatives.
“Brendan has been an ASHI Member since 1995. He has served two terms as Chapter president and is the current Chapter Council Representative,” said Kurt Salomon, 2005 Cox Award recipient and this year’s presenter. “His leadership, professionalism, ethical behavior and captivating personality make him an inspiration.”
A past president of PRO ASHI, Ryan is dedicated to the growth of ASHI Membership and chapter strength. “Since my first election as its president, the PRO ASHI Chapter has flourished into a highly active and financially solvent organization,” said Ryan. “The upcoming years and the changing terrain of the home inspection profession offer a great opportunity for ASHI to grow while still maintaining the highest of standards. I share the vision that ASHI can be both the biggest and the best.”
